The University of Surrey has established a subsidiary, Blackwell Park Ltd, to deliver its aspirations for a new village community on its landholdings in the West of Guildford. The University’s expectations are high.
Blackwell Park is different. The University wants to make the right decisions today for the generations of tomorrow, and as a long-term landowner and steward, is committed to delivering a legacy development for Guildford. Through Blackwell Park, it will help meet the need for new homes, protect and enhance the natural environment, and drive economic growth.
Set within the University of Surrey’s thriving enterprise ecosystem in West Guildford, the Blackwell Park proposals will deliver an innovative, accessible new village community where services, facilities, and shared spaces are just a short walk or cycle from home.
Up to 1,800 new homes will be built of all shapes, sizes and tenures, designed as a high quality village, as well as an extension of the internationally renowned Surrey Research Park, creating thousands of jobs. A much needed new access road through Blackwell Park will relieve existing traffic congestion and enhanced bus routes will connect the University with the town centre.
